Wire makes a connection
In most cases, wire is an invisible helper which reliably carries out its duties. Sometimes it is brought to our attention as a brace, a crane rope, a ski lift cable, and on numerous bridges we blindly trust its load-bearing capacity and endurance.
It has even found its place in our general use of language. We speak about the high wire act, “Man on Wire”, we get our wires crossed and a wireless connection is always popular.
In short, wire is a product to which we don’t give a second thought in everyday life. The industry applications range from medical engineering to art.
What makes wire so attractive?
Wire is not just wire. Over centuries of fabrication, two characteristics have been attributed to wire which you would not necessarily associate with a steel product: flexibility, a high capacity for reshaping and its efficiency when operated at high speed.
